Meetings

Below are the support group meetings which take place at our Avalon Women's Centres.

NOTE: Many of our meetings have moved to a virtual platform (by phone or online) due to COVID-19. Please check our meeting schedules for further information on the meetings we are offering. Read more

If you would like to find out when a meeting is scheduled, please click on the centre of your choice. If you are not sure which meeting is right for you, call one of our helpful Centre Managers to find out.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)*

These meetings are for women recovering from alcoholism. Along with regular AA meetings we also have meetings of Step groups, topic discussions, guided meditations, and Big Book study groups.

Al-Anon*

These meetings are for the family or friends of alcoholics. We have regular Al-Anon meetings and Step meetings available.

Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous (ABA)

These meetings are for women looking to find and maintain recovery in their eating practices and to help others gain recovery.

Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families (ACOA)

These meetings are for women who grew up in dysfunctional homes.

Co-Dependents Anonymous (CODA)

These meetings are for women who wish to develop healthy relationships. The only requirement is a desire for healthy and loving relationships.

Co-Dependents of Sex Addicts (COSA)**

These meetings are for women who have been affected by another person's compulsive sexual behaviour.

** No meeting on Stat holidays.

Double Winners (Al-Anon for Alcoholics)**

These meetings are for women recovering from alcoholism who also have family and/or friends who are alcoholics.

Emotions Anonymous (EA)

These meetings are for women who have a desire to improve their emotional well-being.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA)

These meetings are for women who are recovering from an addiction to narcotics.

Overeaters Anonymous (OA)

These meetings are for women dealing with compulsive overeating, food addiction and binge eating.

Sex and Love Addiction Anonymous (SLAA)

These meetings are for women who suffer from an addictive compulsion to engage in or avoid sex, love or emotional attachments.

Survivors of Incest Anonymous (SIA)***

These meetings are for women who are recovering from the consequences of childhood sexual abuse.

Yoga of 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR)*

These yoga sessions offer a rich and powerful framework for addiction recovery and relapse prevention.

SHE RECOVERS Sharing Circles

SHE RECOVERS Sharing Circles offer warm, welcoming spaces for women to share our stories, so others who may be struggling can find inspiration to make positive changes in their lives. Monthly topics focus on strengths, building resilience and increasing mindfulness.
