Through their Healthy Community Grant program, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation helps local non-profit organizations in South Surrey and White Rock to provide programs that support the health and wellness of the community. This year, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation has generously supported Avalon Women’s Centre in White Rock by providing funding to increase the offering of childcare in the centre, helping more women access our services without facing childcare costs.
“We’re so grateful to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation for this opportunity to increase our childminding services to women in our community,” says Leanne Utendale, Centre Manager at Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock. “We know that this will remove a significant barrier for many women in addiction recovery, allowing them to regularly attend peer support meetings and strengthen their long-term recovery.”
Funding from this grant is already helping to provide childminding services at the new Narcotics Anonymous meeting, taking place on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. at the White Rock Centre.
“Peace Arch Hospital Foundation is proud to support this important initiative for women recovering from addiction in White Rock and South Surrey,” says Ashley McGuire, Community Engagement Officer at Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. “We are committed to supporting the overall health and wellness of our community and are glad to help remove barriers to addiction recovery for women and their families.”
Big thanks to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation for supporting this important service in White Rock!
