How to stay connected during the COVID-19 closure

Even though we must physically distance ourselves for a time, we will not be without the support of our Avalon community.

We need each other more than ever right now, and we’ve put together some ways that you can continue to connect during this uncertain time.

Attend your regular 12-step meeting by phone

Avalon Recovery Society has partnered with TELUS who have generously provided three conference lines – one for each Avalon Women’s Centre. Meeting attendees can dial in at the time of their regular 12-step meeting and attend the meetings by phone.

Drop-in to live telephone support

Every morning from Monday to Friday, Centre Managers will be hosting a “coffee hour” on the above conference lines. This is a time where you can drop in and have a chat about anything that’s on your mind.

North Shore coffee hour: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Vancouver coffee hour: Monday to Friday 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

White Rock coffee hour: Monday to Friday 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Live chat through Facebook Messenger

Centre Managers will be monitoring the Facebook Messenger chats for each Avalon Women’s Centre Facebook page and can provide live chat support during our regular opening hours if you need someone to speak to.
