***UPDATE MARCH 31***
This individual has informed us that her COVID-19 diagnosis from her doctor was incorrect. Further tests revealed she did not have COVID-19.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult and confusing time for everyone.
It has recently been brought to our attention that a member of our Avalon White Rock community has been diagnosed with COVID-19 by their doctor.
Their medical professionals have advised that the risk of contagion is low. However, we wanted to inform you of the most recent dates and times this person was at the White Rock Centre:
March 12: 10:00 to 2:30pm
March 13: 9:00 to 2:30 pm
March 14: 8:30 to 3:30 pm
March 16: 9:00 to 2:30 pm
If you were at Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock during these times, the Government of Canada and the BC Centre for Disease Control recommend that you self-isolate for a period of 14 days from the date of possible exposure.
Self-isolation means to:
- Stay at home
- Monitor yourself for symptoms, even if mild, for 14 days
- Avoid contact with others
You can still go outside for some fresh air, a run, a bike ride or to walk the dog, while keeping a distance of at least 2 arms-length (approximately 2 metres) from others.
If you develop symptoms, even if mild, stay home, avoid other people and contact your Public Health Authority at 8-1-1 as soon as possible.
