North Shore Centre
Avalon Women’s Centre North Shore has been serving the North Shore community since 1997. It is a busy and active hub of friendship, warmth and support that makes a huge impact in the lives of countless women and their families.
The Centre holds a number of social events, like movie nights, open houses and potlucks. It has a well-stocked lending library and clothing closet, and offers free childcare to women attending the noon AA meetings. We invite you to drop by for a tea or coffee and learn more about the many wonderful aspects of this warm and welcoming Centre.

Thank you Avalon for being the calm place, safe from the everyday pushing and shoving. I walk through the door and there is always a smile, a hug, or a friendly word. I take a deep breath, and I know that I am safe.

Meet your Centre Manager
Jennifer Morrow
Jennifer is no stranger to recovery. She has been a volunteer and Relief Worker at Avalon before coming on as the Centre Manager in November 2020. Jennifer has been part of the Avalon Community since 2010. Prior to joining Avalon, Jennifer worked with the Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction as a Client Service Worker. She believes that connection and hope are the fundamentals of change. Avalon is very close to Jennifer’s heart and she is humbled to work with women seeking recovery and a better life.
Jennifer completed her Addiction Counselling Program at VCC in 2020 and has volunteered with Union Gospel Mission and Women’s Recovery houses over the past 12 years. Jennifer also provides counselling to women in recovery settings.
Jennifer enjoys time off with her two children and partner.

Avalon Women’s Centre North Shore is located on the third floor of 132 14 E Street in North Vancouver, near Lions Gate Hospital. It is a short bus ride away from Lonsdale Quay and is serviced by the number 229 and 230 bus routes.
Paid parking is available below the nearby North Shore Public Library, or underneath Whole Foods on 13th Street.
