White Rock Centre

Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock opened its doors in 2012 and is the newest addition to the Avalon Recovery Society family. Since then, it has been a busy and active Centre, drawing women from near and far to attend meetings and find support and strength.

As well as hosting meetings, the Centre holds monthly potluck events and provides free workshops to women in the community. There is a lending library, clothing closet, free child-minding and a steady stream of tea and coffee. You are invited to drop by the Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock and experience this warm welcome and inviting community for yourself.

Meet your Centre Manager

Leanne Utendale

Leanne has been with Avalon Recovery Society as Centre Manager of Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock since 2018, but she has been part of the Avalon community in White Rock since the Centre opened in 2012. Before coming to Avalon, Leanne worked in administrative positions in hospitals for more than 10 years and studied Basic Counselling at Vancouver Community College. She has experience working in treatment centres with women, developing programs to support recovery and providing peer-to-peer counselling.

Leanne is passionate about seeing women reach their full potential and live healthy and joyful lives. She is an active member of the White Rock community, mom to two boys and wife to Kevin.
