Community Services

At Avalon Recovery Society, we provide completely free, life-changing services to women and families recovering from addiction. Each of our Avalon Women’s Centres have safe, welcoming meeting spaces for women in recovery, free childcare, drop-in hours, resource libraries, and a clothing closet. We also offer virtual peer support meetings by teleconference and video conference.

Our programs and services are accessible to anyone who identifies and lives full time as a woman and is seeking recovery. For those looking for other forms of support group and community services, please see the links below.

  Provides information and referral services for people across BC needing help with any kind of substance abuse.

  BC211 is a free helpline providing information and referral for community, government and social services in BC. Helpline services include Alcohol and Drug Information and Referral Service (ADIRS), the Gambling Support Line BC, VictimLink BC, and the Youth Against Violence Line.
• Crisis Centre of BC: 1.800.784.2433 If you are in crisis, distress, or having thoughts of suicide, the Crisis Centre offers immediate access to barrier-free, non-judgemental, confidential support and follow-up to youth, adults, and seniors throughout 24/7 phone lines and online services
