Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock opened its doors in 2012 and is the newest addition to the Avalon Recovery Society family. Since then, it has been a busy and active Centre, drawing women from near and far to attend meetings and find support and strength.
As well as hosting meetings, the Centre holds online events, and provides free workshops and counselling to women in the community. There is a lending library, clothing closet, free childminding and a steady stream of tea and coffee. You are invited to drop by the Avalon Women’s Centre White Rock and experience this warm welcome and inviting community for yourself.
Meet the White Rock Centre Staff
Victoria Riley, Centre Manager
Victoria joined the Avalon community in 2019, after moving back to Canada from Australia. During her time abroad, she worked, studied and practiced yoga on the beach. Victoria has an educational background in Psychology and studied at RMIT University in Melbourne. She finds the human brain fascinating and gravitates toward those with a thirst for knowledge. Victoria is also a certified Yoga Teacher and has spent time building her practice of mindful movement and breath work over the years.
Throughout Victoria’s recovery journey she has helped many women by lending an ear, a shoulder, and offering support wherever she can. She understands the journey to a better life through sobriety is not one that should be done alone. She thrives in a community of like-minded women who are also on a path to wellness and is passionate about helping those find their way.
With many years experience in managerial and clerical roles, Victoria brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to her role as White Rock Centre Manager and is always open to growth and expansion for the greater good of all the amazing women in our community and looks forward to meeting you!

Polly has lived and worked in White Rock for 25 years, working in the retirement business for many of those years.
She has volunteered for numerous causes and her experience and compassion led her to volunteering and working at Avalon.
